Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday morning to personally lead the official centenary celebrations commemorating the birth of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, one of India’s most revered spiritual figures whose message of universal love and selfless service transformed millions of lives worldwide. The event at Prasanthi Nilayam, the global spiritual headquarters established by Sathya Sai Baba, is expected to draw lakhs of devotees from across India and abroad.
Upon arrival, the Prime Minister will offer prayers at the sacred mahasamadhi shrine where Sathya Sai Baba attained samadhi in 2011, before unveiling a special commemorative coin minted by the Government of India and releasing a limited-edition series of postage stamps that capture key phases of the spiritual master’s life, his iconic institutions, and his timeless teachings on truth, righteousness, peace, love, and non-violence. These releases mark formal national recognition of Sathya Sai Baba’s extraordinary contributions in free education, super-speciality healthcare, and massive drinking water projects that continue to benefit remote and underprivileged communities.
In his address to the massive gathering at the iconic Sai Kulwant Hall, Modi is likely to emphasise how Sathya Sai Baba’s philosophy of “Help ever, hurt never” and “Love all, serve all” aligns seamlessly with India’s civilisational ethos and the government’s vision of inclusive development. The Prime Minister has often cited the Sri Sathya Sai healthcare and education model as exemplary demonstrations of scalable, value-based public service delivered without discrimination of caste, creed, or nationality.

Later on Wednesday, the Prime Minister will fly to Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu to inaugurate the landmark South India Natural Farming Summit, a three-day convergence of over 50,000 farmers, scientists, and practitioners from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, and Puducherry. At the event, he will release the 21st instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme, transferring more than ₹18,000 crore directly into the bank accounts of over nine crore farmer families nationwide, providing critical financial support ahead of the rabi season.
The summit itself represents a major push towards chemical-free, climate-resilient agriculture by showcasing indigenous natural farming techniques, strengthening market linkages for organic produce, and promoting rural entrepreneurship in eco-friendly packaging and agro-processing. By combining spiritual reverence in Puttaparthi with decisive agricultural empowerment in Coimbatore, Prime Minister Modi’s day-long southern itinerary underscores the government’s twin commitment to India’s cultural heritage and sustainable rural prosperity.
