Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday highlighted the pivotal role of India’s youth in nation-building, addressing the Veer Baal Diwas programme at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. He stated that generations like Gen Z and Gen Alpha will lead India toward the goal of becoming a developed nation, emphasizing that talent and deeds, not age, define greatness.
PM Modi praised the competence and confidence of young Indians, noting that many have already achieved inspiring accomplishments. However, he stressed that these successes mark only the beginning, urging youth to dream bigger and continue striving for excellence, with their efforts contributing not just to personal growth but to national progress.
Highlighting India’s supportive environment for youth, Modi remarked that unlike previous generations, today’s young people have access to opportunities, platforms, and resources. Programs such as Digital India, Startup India, and Khelo India empower them in technology, entrepreneurship, and sports, while initiatives like Mera Yuva Bharat foster leadership and skill development.

The Prime Minister cautioned against being distracted by short-term fame, urging youth to maintain clarity of thought and strong principles. He encouraged them to draw inspiration from national ideals and historical personalities, ensuring their achievements serve the country as a whole rather than just individual recognition.
Veer Baal Diwas, observed on 26th December, commemorates the martyrdom of Sahibzadas Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji, sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Modi connected the sacrifice and courage of these young heroes with the modern generation, urging them to embrace opportunities across sectors like space, fintech, manufacturing, and sports to drive India’s development.
