In a decisive crackdown on human trafficking, police in Maharashtra’s Palghar district rescued three women who were coerced into prostitution at a hotel in the Boisar area, arresting the 39-year-old hotel manager on September 18, 2025. The operation, conducted by the local crime branch and the Immoral Human Trafficking Prevention Cell, followed a critical tip-off that exposed a sordid sex racket operating under the guise of hospitality.
The manager, originally from Patiala, Punjab, was allegedly orchestrating the exploitation, luring vulnerable women into prostitution and profiting from their plight to sustain his livelihood, according to a senior official from Boisar police station. The raid, executed with precision, brought to light the grim reality of the women’s ordeal, who were trapped in a cycle of abuse and exploitation at the hotel.
The arrested manager now faces charges under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover potential accomplices and ensure the racket is fully dismantled. “This arrest sends a strong message that such heinous crimes will not be tolerated,” the official stated, emphasizing the police’s commitment to combating human trafficking.

The three rescued women have been provided immediate support and safely transferred to a rehabilitation and care center, where they are receiving counseling and assistance to rebuild their lives. The rescue operation underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to protect vulnerable individuals and bring perpetrators to justice.
This incident follows a series of similar crackdowns across Maharashtra, reflecting the state’s intensified focus on curbing illegal activities that exploit women. Local authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to aid in the fight against human trafficking. As the investigation progresses, the Palghar police are determined to ensure that justice is served and the victims receive the care they need to recover from their trauma.
