Nvidia announced on Saturday that its CEO, Jensen Huang, will not be travelling to India next week to attend the India AI Impact Summit. The summit, set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, had listed Huang as one of its key speakers and attractions.
Huang was scheduled to address the media in New Delhi on Wednesday. However, the company’s India media agency, MSL, confirmed in an email that he would be unable to attend due to “unforeseen circumstances,” without providing further details.
The India AI Impact Summit is expected to host global technology leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to discuss the governance, deployment, and impact of artificial intelligence across sectors. Huang’s absence is seen as a significant setback given his influence in the AI and semiconductor domains.

Despite the cancellation, Nvidia remains a key participant in the summit through other executives and representatives who will highlight the company’s AI technologies and innovations. The summit will still feature panel discussions, expert sessions, and exhibitions showcasing breakthroughs from over 300 leading AI companies from around the world.
Industry analysts note that while Huang’s presence would have drawn major media attention, the summit is likely to retain its momentum as India continues to position itself as a global hub for AI innovation and collaboration. The event is also expected to foster strategic partnerships between Indian and international AI firms.
The development underscores the unpredictability of high-profile global tech gatherings, with organizers now adjusting schedules to ensure a robust presence of experts and policymakers, despite Huang’s absence.
