The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a 7,500-page chargesheet against 10 accused in the Red Fort area car bomb explosion case, which killed 11 people and injured several others, officials said on Thursday. The high-intensity vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) blast, which occurred on November 10 last year in the national capital, also caused extensive damage to property in the busy area near the Red Fort.
According to the NIA, the accused—including the deceased main perpetrator Dr Umer Un Nabi—were linked to Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH), an offshoot of Al-Qaida in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS). The agency stated that the investigation uncovered what it described as a “Jehadi conspiracy” developed through scientific and forensic evidence, involving individuals allegedly influenced by extremist ideology to carry out the attack.
The chargesheet was filed before the NIA special court at Patiala House Courts in Delhi. Officials confirmed that the document runs into thousands of pages and includes detailed evidence gathered during the course of the investigation, including technical analysis, witness statements, and forensic findings related to the blast.

Investigators further alleged that several of the accused were radicalised medical professionals who were inspired by AQIS and AGuH ideology. The agency has invoked multiple stringent laws in the case, including provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Explosive Substances Act, Arms Act, and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.
The NIA also said that charges against Dr Umer Un Nabi, who was based in Pulwama and previously served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, have been proposed to be abated due to his death. The remaining accused named in the chargesheet include Aamir Rashid Mir, Jasir Bilal Wani, Dr Muzamil Shakeel, Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather, Dr Shaheen Saeed, Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay, Soyab, Dr Bilal Naseer Malla, and Yasir Ahmad Dar. The filing marks a significant development in one of the country’s most closely watched terror investigations, as the case now moves to judicial proceedings before the special NIA court.
