Telangana has sufficient fuel reserves to meet demand for the next three months, State Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy said, seeking to reassure citizens amid concerns over supply disruptions linked to global geopolitical tensions. Addressing the issue, the minister stated that the state has maintained adequate stock levels of essential fuels, including petrol and diesel, ensuring uninterrupted availability for both consumers and industries. He emphasised that the government is closely monitoring supply chains and coordinating with central agencies and oil companies to prevent any shortages.
The assurance comes at a time when instability in global energy markets, particularly in West Asia, has raised fears about potential disruptions to fuel supplies. However, officials said contingency planning and stockpiling measures have helped Telangana remain insulated from immediate impacts.
Reddy noted that the government has taken proactive steps to manage logistics and distribution, ensuring that fuel reaches all parts of the state without delay. He added that there is no need for panic buying, urging the public to rely on official communication rather than speculation.
Industry stakeholders have also been advised to maintain normal consumption patterns, with authorities warning that unnecessary stockpiling could strain supply systems. The minister reiterated that both public and private sector entities are working in coordination to maintain stability in fuel availability.
Experts say such assurances are crucial in maintaining market confidence, especially during periods of global uncertainty. Adequate reserves not only help stabilise prices locally but also ensure that essential services and economic activities continue without disruption.
