AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha spent a full day working as a delivery agent for quick-commerce platform Blinkit on Monday, donning the company’s yellow uniform and helmet while riding pillion to complete orders across the city. The initiative aimed to provide firsthand insight into the challenges faced by gig workers, including intense pressure from ultra-fast delivery timelines and safety concerns. Chadha shared a video of the experience on social media, captioning it: “Away from boardrooms, at the grassroots. I lived their day.”
The exercise comes as gig workers demand policy reforms, including the elimination of 10-minute delivery models that they argue heighten risks and exploitation. Chadha has been actively advocating for these issues, having hosted a delivery agent for lunch and conducted interviews to spotlight concerns over pay, job security, and working conditions. His actions underscore a broader push for accountability in the e-commerce and food delivery sectors.
Chadha has repeatedly criticized the business practices of platforms like Blinkit and Zomato. Earlier this month, he condemned the companies’ reliance on police support during worker strikes, describing it as an admission that the system is unsustainable. The MP has highlighted how such models prioritize speed over worker welfare, turning legitimate demands for fair treatment into law-and-order issues.

The controversy intensified following remarks by Zomato and Blinkit founder Deepinder Goyal, who labeled striking workers as “miscreants” and credited law enforcement for maintaining operations during New Year’s Eve deliveries. Chadha responded sharply on X, rejecting the characterization and emphasizing that workers seeking basic dignity, fair pay, and social security are not criminals. He stressed that framing labor demands as disruptions is both insulting and dangerous.
Chadha reiterated his commitment to pursuing the cause both inside and outside Parliament, noting that he had already raised gig worker issues during the winter session. He vowed to continue the fight until meaningful accountability is achieved, asserting that the delivery partners who built these platforms deserve respect and humane treatment rather than derogatory labels for voicing their concerns.
