AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday revived his criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over educational qualifications, linking the issue to disruptions during the Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate (CUET-UG) 2026. The remarks came amid controversy surrounding technical glitches that affected candidates at multiple examination centres across the country.
Kejriwal used the examination disruptions to renew his long-standing political attack on the prime minister, arguing that the country requires educated leadership to effectively manage key institutions and national systems. His comments added a political dimension to the growing debate over the conduct of major competitive examinations.
The controversy erupted after delays and technical issues were reported during the CUET-UG examination process. The National Testing Agency acknowledged the disruptions and attributed them to problems involving its technology partner, Tata Consultancy Services. The agency said the issues led to delays at several centres, affecting candidates appearing for the nationwide entrance test.

CUET-UG is one of India's largest higher education entrance examinations and serves as a gateway for admissions to undergraduate programmes at numerous universities. Any disruption in the conduct of the examination typically draws significant public attention because of its impact on lakhs of students and their academic futures.
The latest incident has also renewed scrutiny of the examination system following a series of controversies surrounding competitive and entrance tests in recent years. Opposition parties have frequently questioned the management of national examinations, while authorities have pledged improvements in technology, security and operational oversight.
Kejriwal's remarks are likely to intensify the political debate over education, governance and institutional accountability. Meanwhile, the NTA is expected to address concerns raised by candidates and ensure that any technical issues are resolved as the examination process continues across the country.
