The 78th Indian Army Day celebrations made history this year as the parade was held for the first time outside Delhi and traditional cantonment areas. Thousands of spectators lined Mahal Road in Jagatpura, witnessing a grand display of India’s military discipline, valour, and modern combat capabilities.
The parade highlighted India’s modern military strength with advanced weapon systems, armoured vehicles, and missile platforms. Arjun tanks, K-9 Vajra self-propelled guns, Dhanush artillery systems, BMP infantry combat vehicles, and the supersonic BrahMos cruise missile were showcased, reflecting the Army’s operational readiness and technological advancement.
Among the crowd favorites was the newly raised Bhairav Battalion, making its first public appearance between the Para Special Forces and regular infantry. With painted faces and thunderous war cries, the unit demonstrated rapid, precise modern warfare tactics inspired by global conflict lessons and India’s Operation Sindoor.

The parade also featured Param Vir Chakra, Ashok Chakra, Maha Vir Chakra, and Kirti Chakra awardees, alongside a ceremonial flypast by IAF Jaguar jets and flower showers from three Chetak helicopters.
The Army also spotlighted its technological evolution with drone platforms, combat robots, AI-integrated systems, and the Integrated Drone Detection and Interdiction System (IDDIS). Other displays included the upgraded BM-21 Grad, SMERCH rocket systems, M777 ultra-light howitzers, and indigenous air defence systems such as Akashteer and Igla.
Cultural heritage and youth participation were highlighted through NCC all-girls contingents, scout units from Garhwal, Sikkim, and Arunachal, and tableaux showcasing Rajasthan’s folk traditions alongside Operation Sindoor. The event was attended by senior state and military leaders, including General Upendra Dwivedi, General Anil Chauhan, and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, blending patriotic fervor with public engagement.
