Police personnel, National Disaster Response Force teams and other emergency services began search and rescue operations soon after the collapse. The building collapsed while several parts of Delhi were experiencing heavy rainfall. However, authorities had not immediately confirmed whether the weather played a direct role in weakening the structure or causing the collapse. Officials are expected to examine the condition of the building and other possible factors once the rescue operation is completed.
The incident triggered concern in the surrounding neighbourhood as residents gathered near the site while emergency teams carried out rescue work. Authorities worked to secure the area and prevent people from approaching unstable sections of the collapsed structure. Heavy equipment and specialised rescue personnel were deployed to support the search operation.
Further details about the number of people trapped and the cause of the collapse were awaited as rescue operations continued. Authorities are expected to conduct a detailed investigation into the structural condition of the building and whether any safety lapses contributed to the incident. The immediate priority remained locating and rescuing anyone still trapped beneath the debris.
