Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday emphasised that festivals of joy and enthusiasm can only be celebrated in an atmosphere of security, peace, and mutual trust, highlighting that both the state and the country are progressing with confidence. He made these remarks while inaugurating Holi celebrations at the Gorakhnath Temple, maintaining traditional observances.
Describing Holi as a festival symbolising social harmony, joy, and collective enthusiasm, the Chief Minister noted that India’s sage traditions and ancestors have preserved the legacy of the festival for thousands of years. He said the present generation continues to celebrate Holi with the same fervour, with people from all sections of society and followers of Sanatan Dharma participating enthusiastically. Efforts are also being made to eliminate discord and promote harmony in society.
The Chief Minister reported that all Holika Dahan programmes across Uttar Pradesh were conducted successfully. Over 1.61 lakh Holika Dahan events took place peacefully and enthusiastically, reflecting the prevailing sense of security and order in the state.

Referring to the religious significance of Holika Dahan, Yogi Adityanath highlighted its connection to Lord Vishnu’s Narasimha Avatar, which symbolises the victory of good over evil. He said that whenever disorder arises in society, divine inspiration strengthens virtuous forces and suppresses negative tendencies.
The Chief Minister also praised the country’s progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that India is steadily moving towards becoming a developed nation while preserving its heritage. He expressed pride in the nation’s direction during the ‘Amrit Kaal’ of independence, noting the balance of tradition and development.
Extending his greetings on the occasion of Holi, Yogi Adityanath expressed hope that future generations will continue to celebrate the festival with the same spirit of harmony, joy, and enthusiasm for years to come.
