A video circulating on social media has sparked controversy after Sunrisers Hyderabad batter Heinrich Klaasen was allegedly seen warning a fan for recording him and his family without permission. Although the player’s face is not clearly visible in the clip, many users online believe it is the South African wicketkeeper-batter, leading to widespread debate over the incident.
In the viral video, Klaasen can be heard asking the person to stop recording, stating that filming without consent is not acceptable. The situation escalates as he repeatedly requests the individual to leave. At one point, he is heard saying, “Don’t do it, sorry. Listen to me very carefully, don’t do it,” and asking the fan to stop taking photos or videos.
The clip further shows the cricketer warning the person after they continue filming, despite being asked to stop. He says, “If I turn around and you take a photo of me and my family, I promise you will be on the floor,” which has triggered strong reactions on social media, with users divided over whether the statement was a serious threat or an emotional reaction to privacy concerns.

The incident has not been officially confirmed by Klaasen or Sunrisers Hyderabad, and the authenticity of the video remains unverified. However, it has already gone viral, with fans debating player privacy versus public behaviour, especially in crowded public or cricket-related environments.
Meanwhile, Klaasen has been in strong form in IPL 2026, playing key innings for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Former South African pacer Dale Steyn praised him for his consistency, highlighting his ability to perform despite batting in the middle order and often under pressure after strong starts from the team’s openers.
