Mercedes-Benz India has announced a significant price reduction for its E-Class Long Wheelbase (LWB) models, driven by the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) 2.0 reforms, effective from September 2025. The luxury sedan, along with the GLE 450 SUV, will see a price drop of up to ₹6 lakh, making these premium vehicles more accessible to buyers in India’s competitive luxury car market. Additionally, to mark the first anniversary of the E-Class LWB, Mercedes-Benz has introduced a striking new Verde Silver color option, available across all three variants: E200, E220d, and E450.
The E-Class LWB, previously priced between ₹83 lakh and ₹96.9 lakh (ex-showroom, India), will now start at approximately ₹77 lakh and go up to ₹90.9 lakh (ex-showroom) after the GST-induced price cut. The GLE 450, currently retailing at ₹1.15 crore, will benefit from a similar ₹6 lakh reduction, bringing its new ex-showroom price to ₹1.09 crore. These reductions reflect the government’s push to streamline taxation and boost demand in the automotive sector, particularly for high-end vehicles, as part of broader economic reforms announced in August 2025.
The E-Class LWB continues to impress with its sophisticated design and cutting-edge features. Its interior boasts a triple-screen setup, including a 12.3-inch virtual instrument cluster, a 14.4-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch passenger display. The sedan offers premium amenities such as 64-colour ambient lighting, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, four-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and a 17-speaker Burmester audio system. Safety features include advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), multiple airbags, and a 360-degree camera, ensuring a blend of luxury and security.

Under the hood, the E200 is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine delivering 204 hp, while the E220d features a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine producing 197 hp. The top-tier E450 AMG variant stands out with a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, augmented by a 48V mild-hybrid system, generating a robust 381 hp. All variants are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, offering a balance of performance and efficiency.
The introduction of the Verde Silver color adds a fresh aesthetic appeal to the E-Class LWB, complementing its sleek design and reinforcing Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to offering customization options. The price reduction is expected to boost sales, especially as the festive season approaches, with industry analysts predicting a surge in demand for luxury vehicles. Mercedes-Benz India reported a 12% year-on-year sales growth in the first half of 2025, and these strategic price cuts are likely to further strengthen its market position against rivals like BMW and Audi.
As India’s luxury car market heats up, Mercedes-Benz’s blend of affordability, innovation, and style positions the E-Class LWB and GLE 450 as compelling choices for discerning buyers seeking premium performance and unmatched comfort.
