As the Navi Mumbai International Airport prepares for its grand inauguration on October 8, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani personally toured the state-of-the-art facility and extended heartfelt appreciation to the diverse team that brought it to life. In a post on X, Adani described the airport as a testament to “every hand that worked and every heart that cared,” acknowledging the dedication of construction workers, differently-abled colleagues, and staff members involved in its development and operations.
The gesture drew praise from Adani’s son, Jeet Adani, director of Adani Airports, who shared on X that his father’s walk through the airport and gratitude toward its builders was a “deeply touching and humbling lesson in leadership.” The Navi Mumbai International Airport, a significant addition to India’s aviation infrastructure, features a 3,700-metre runway designed to accommodate large commercial aircraft, modern passenger terminals, and cutting-edge air traffic control systems.
Set to handle 20 million passengers annually once fully operational, the airport will serve both domestic and international travelers. Major airlines, including IndiGo, Akasa Air, and Air India Express, have already announced plans to commence operations, with initial flights connecting various domestic cities.
