In a late-night operation, Gurugram Police and the Special Task Force (STF) have foiled a sinister plot to assassinate popular Haryanvi singer-rapper Rahul Fazilpuria, arresting five sharpshooters after a tense encounter on Pataudi Road.
The incident unfolded around midnight on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, with four of the attackers sustaining leg injuries during a shootout that saw 19 rounds exchanged. This bold police action comes just weeks after Fazilpuria narrowly escaped an earlier attack on July 14, highlighting a growing threat to his life.
The arrested suspects—Vinod Pehalwan from Jhajjar, and Padam alias Raja, Shubham alias Kala, Gautam alias Gogi, and Ashish alias Ashu from Sonipat—were allegedly working for gangsters Rohit Sardhaniya and Deepak Nandal.
Initial investigations reveal their involvement in the recent murder of Fazilpuria’s financier, Rohit Shokeen, gunned down on August 4 near Palm Hills society in Sector 77. Acting on a tip-off about their movements near Wazirpur village, police set up a barricade, only for the suspects to open fire from their Innova car, prompting a swift response.
The injured shooters are now under medical care at Sector 10’s civil hospital, while Gautam remains in custody as the probe deepens. The July 14 attack saw two shots fired at Fazilpuria’s car on Badshahpur Southern Peripheral Road, from which he miraculously escaped unharmed.
Gurugram Police hailed the operation as a critical blow to organized crime, with authorities vowing to dismantle the gang network behind these attacks. The singer’s fans have expressed relief, but the incidents have raised concerns about the safety of public figures amid escalating gang violence in the region.
