A former employee of IT services firm Wipro has alleged that she faced religious discrimination and workplace harassment at the company’s Pune campus, claiming that she was pressured to convert her religion by a senior manager. The complainant has filed a police complaint and also approached a state human rights body seeking action against her former supervisor.
According to the allegations, the woman, who worked at Wipro’s Hinjewadi campus, said she was subjected to sustained mental and professional pressure by senior managers and team leaders. She has claimed that the harassment was linked to her religious identity and escalated over time after she resisted alleged attempts to influence her personal beliefs.
The complainant further alleged that she was threatened with adverse performance reviews and job loss if she did not comply, ultimately forcing her to resign due to stress and workplace pressure. She has stated that she did not receive adequate resolution through the company’s internal grievance mechanisms, which prompted her to approach legal authorities.
