Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav declared the upcoming Bihar assembly elections a "festival of change", urging voters to support a transformation in the state’s leadership. Speaking after the Election Commission announced the poll schedule on Monday, Yadav emphasised that the elections, set for November 6 and 11 with counting on November 14, would mark a turning point for Bihar. He claimed that a Mahagathbandhan government would address longstanding issues, asserting that "every Bihari will become the Chief Minister—that is, a change maker."
In a passionate post on X, Yadav, the former deputy chief minister, accused the Nitish Kumar-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government of 20 years of misgovernance. He highlighted issues such as unemployment, corruption, paper leaks, and poor infrastructure, including the Muzaffarpur Balika Grih scandal. Yadav called for a "visionary, fearless, and committed" leader to champion the rights of the poor, Dalits, and oppressed communities, positioning himself as a socialist leader dedicated to these causes. He expressed confidence that November 14 would be remembered as the start of Bihar’s "bright future, transformation, and development."
Yadav emphasised job creation as a key campaign promise, claiming the Mahagathbandhan achieved in 17 months what the NDA failed to deliver in 17 years. "We will provide government jobs to all and achieve in 20 months what this government couldn’t in 20 years," he stated. He rallied Bihar’s youth to vote against unemployment and support a government focused on progress, development, and inclusivity, promising to build a "better, developed, and new Bihar" with public support.

The announcement of the election dates has intensified political activity in Bihar, with the process concluding by November 16. Yadav framed the polls as a historic opportunity to end two decades of challenges, including crime, corruption, and migration. Thanking voters, he expressed optimism that post-Diwali and Chhath Puja, Bihar would unite to form a Mahagathbandhan government, heralding a new era of growth and opportunity for the state.
