An elderly cyclist was knocked onto a busy highway after being struck by a man hanging out of a speeding auto-rickshaw in an incident that was allegedly being filmed for a social media reel. The exact location of the incident has not been officially confirmed. A video of the incident, captured on a biker's dashcam, has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread outrage and renewing concerns over the growing trend of performing dangerous stunts on public roads for online attention.
The footage shows a young man leaning dangerously out of a moving auto-rickshaw while swinging and dancing as another occupant appears to record the act. Moments later, the stunt takes a dangerous turn when the man collides with an elderly cyclist riding along the edge of the road. The impact throws the cyclist and his bicycle onto the highway, leaving the elderly man injured and visibly shaken in the middle of traffic.
Despite the collision, neither the individual performing the stunt nor the auto-rickshaw driver stopped to assist the victim. The vehicle continued driving away, prompting many social media users to describe the incident as a hit-and-run. The incident has drawn criticism for the apparent disregard shown towards the injured cyclist and the risks posed by reckless behaviour on public roads.

The biker whose dashcam recorded the incident immediately stopped to help the victim. He rushed to the elderly cyclist, removed the bicycle that had fallen on top of him and helped him back onto his feet. Several passersby also came forward to assist the man, ensuring he received immediate support after the collision while the auto-rickshaw involved had already left the scene.
The viral video has generated strong reactions online, with many users condemning the reckless pursuit of viral content at the expense of public safety. Several people have demanded strict legal action against both the stunt performer and the auto-rickshaw driver. Some users called for charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), arguing that such behaviour endangers innocent road users and should be dealt with firmly to deter similar incidents.
The incident has once again highlighted the growing concern over dangerous social media stunts being performed on roads without regard for public safety. Authorities have repeatedly warned against such activities, which not only violate traffic regulations but also put the lives of both participants and unsuspecting members of the public at risk. The viral footage has intensified calls for stricter enforcement against reckless driving, hazardous stunts and content creation that compromises road safety.
