The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday filed a chargesheet in a money laundering case linked to Al Falah University in Faridabad, naming the institution’s chairman, Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui, its vice-chancellor, and the Al-Falah Charitable Trust as accused. The case is being investigated under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), officials said.
According to the ED, the chargesheet has been submitted before a competent court after months of investigation into alleged financial irregularities connected to the private university. The probe agency said the accused were involved in laundering proceeds of crime through the charitable trust and associated entities.
Al Falah University had come under scrutiny last year after some of its professors were linked to the November 10 Red Fort blast, bringing the institution into the national spotlight. While the ED’s current case focuses on financial transactions and asset holdings, investigators have examined the broader flow of funds and their alleged misuse.

As part of the probe, the ED has attached assets worth ₹139.01 crore, officials confirmed. The attached properties include land parcels spread across approximately 58 acres, which the agency believes were acquired or maintained using proceeds linked to the alleged money laundering activities.
The agency said the attachment was carried out to prevent the accused from disposing of or alienating the assets during the pendency of the case. Such provisional attachments are standard procedure under the PMLA when investigators believe assets are connected to illicit financial activity.
The case will now proceed before the trial court, which will examine the evidence presented in the chargesheet. The ED stated that further investigation is ongoing, and additional action may follow based on the court’s directions and the outcome of subsequent inquiries.
