The Delhi government is set to launch an ambitious array of 75 projects, schemes, and programs under the ‘Sewa Pakhwada’ initiative, commemorating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday on September 17, 2025. The fortnight-long celebration, culminating on Gandhi Jayanti, October 2, will feature inaugurations and foundation stone-laying ceremonies aimed at enhancing connectivity, sanitation, public health, and environmental sustainability across the national capital, officials announced.
Union Minister Amit Shah will kick off the initiative on September 17 at Thyagraj Stadium, launching 15 key projects, including hospital blocks, 101 Arogya Mandirs, and 150 dialysis centers.
Notable infrastructure developments include a long-awaited foot overbridge near the Rajputana Rifles regiment base in Delhi Cantt, addressing safety concerns for soldiers and families, and three automated multilevel car parking facilities at Greater Kailash-I, Bharat Darshan Park, and Punjabi Bagh Cremation Ground.
Additionally, the Nand Nagari flyover and a Rs 65 crore grid station near Mandoli Jail, set to benefit 38,000 residents, will be unveiled, alongside 100 new buses and an inter-state bus service.
The initiative also prioritizes green energy and sanitation, with the inauguration of a 200-ton-per-day biogas plant at Nangli Sakrawati and a 100-ton-per-day municipal solid waste-to-compressed biogas plant at Ghogha Dairy.
Water treatment projects, including the 564 MLD Okhla STP, Keshopur Ph-II & III STPs, and Kondli WWTP rehabilitation under the Yamuna Action Plan-III, will be launched alongside the Ring Road/Yamuna Swachhata Abhiyan.
Education and healthcare will see advancements with new CM Shri Schools, an MC Primary School at Prem Nagar, a new block at BR Ambedkar University’s Karampura Centre, and an Organ Transplant & Awareness Portal, reinforcing Delhi’s commitment to holistic development.
