A 17-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed to death in the New Usmanpur area of northeast Delhi, police said on Monday night. The incident has sparked concern among local residents and prompted a large-scale investigation to identify and apprehend those responsible.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-East) Rahul Alwal, officers responded to a report of a stabbing and found the teenager lying on the ground. The victim was declared dead after police reached the scene. Authorities have not yet disclosed the motive behind the attack, and further investigation is underway.
Police said multiple teams have been deployed to trace and arrest the accused at the earliest. The forensic team also visited the crime scene, conducted an inspection, and collected evidence that may assist investigators in reconstructing the sequence of events and identifying those involved.

A case has been registered under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with murder. Investigators are examining all available evidence, including witness accounts and forensic findings, as part of the ongoing probe.
The incident triggered panic in the locality, particularly as it reportedly occurred in a busy area where people were moving about during the day. A local resident expressed concern over public safety, alleging that a group of around 12 to 15 youths was involved in the attack. The resident also identified the victim as Abhishek, who reportedly lived a few lanes away from the scene of the crime.
Police have not officially confirmed the number of suspects involved or the circumstances leading to the stabbing. Officials said efforts are continuing to establish the facts of the case and bring those responsible to justice. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
