On Friday, July 18, panic gripped Delhi as several schools, including St. Thomas School in Dwarka, Guru Nanak Public Sovereign School in Rohini, and GD Goenka School in Dwarka, received bomb threats, marking the fourth such incident this week. Delhi Police, bomb disposal squads, dog units, and fire department teams rushed to the affected schools, launching search and evacuation operations to ensure safety.
The threats, targeting institutions like Dwarka International School, Richmond School in Paschim Vihar, and Abhinav Public School in Rohini Sector 3, caused widespread alarm among students, parents, and teachers. Former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi condemned the BJP-led administration, alleging that over 20 schools were targeted and criticizing the lack of security despite BJP’s control over Delhi’s governance.
The incidents follow mock drills conducted by security agencies on Thursday to test emergency preparedness, highlighting heightened concerns over school safety in the capital.
