New Delhi is reeling from a wave of panic as six schools received bomb threat emails today, marking the third such incident in just four days. The threats, reported between 6:35 AM and 7:48 AM, targeted Andhra School in Prasad Nagar, BGS International School, Rao Man Singh School, Convent School, Max Fort School, and Indraprastha International School in Dwarka, according to a Delhi Fire Services official. Delhi Police, fire personnel, bomb disposal squads, and sniffer dogs swiftly descended on the schools, conducting thorough searches, but no suspicious items have been found so far.
This alarming pattern follows similar hoax threats that rattled the capital earlier this week. On Monday, 32 schools received threatening emails, and on Wednesday, over 50 institutions were targeted, all later deemed false by authorities.
The emails, some linked to a group called “Terrorizers 111,” demanded cryptocurrency payments, including $2,000 in Ethereum, and claimed explosives like C4 bombs were planted in school premises. Despite the hoaxes, each threat triggers immediate evacuations, disrupting education and sowing fear among students, parents, and staff.
Aprajita Gautam, president of the Delhi Parents Association, expressed growing unease, stating, “These repeated scares are traumatic for families. Authorities must act decisively to restore confidence.” Delhi Police’s cybercrime unit is investigating the emails’ origins, suspecting a coordinated effort to disrupt the city.
As the investigation continues, schools remain on high alert, with parents like Sunita Sharma voicing frustration: “Our children’s safety and education are at stake. This needs to stop.”
