In a historic law enforcement operation, Delhi Police arrested 854 criminals, including 280 gangsters, over a 48-hour period as part of ‘Operation Gang Bust’, aimed at dismantling organised criminal networks. The crackdown spanned five states: Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh, making it the force’s largest-ever coordinated action.
Nearly 9,000 police personnel were deployed for simultaneous raids across 4,299 locations, targeting known hideouts, safe houses, and areas with a history of gang-related activity. The teams also interrogated over 6,500 individuals, gathering intelligence that revealed deeper criminal linkages and support networks.
The operation led to the seizure of 300 sophisticated weapons, 130 live cartridges, Rs 25 lakh in cash, and a significant quantity of narcotics, highlighting the scale and sophistication of the criminal syndicates operating across state lines. Police officials noted that further action and arrests are expected in the coming days based on the intelligence collected.
