Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has urged young people to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) and social media responsibly, while highlighting the opportunities emerging technologies can create in education, employment and communication. Addressing a function at the NCC Academy Complex in Pasighat, he said technology should be used to enhance human potential rather than become a distraction from education, physical fitness and personal development.

Khandu particularly stressed the growing influence of social media on young people. While digital platforms have expanded opportunities for learning, communication and self-expression, he cautioned that excessive or irresponsible use could have negative consequences. He urged NCC cadets to avoid misinformation and cyber-related risks and develop the ability to distinguish reliable information from misleading content.

The Chief Minister linked responsible technology use with the values of discipline, critical thinking and responsible citizenship promoted through NCC training. He encouraged cadets to make full use of the facilities at the NCC Academy Complex and carry the lessons learned there into their schools, colleges, communities and future professional lives.

Khandu also highlighted the role of young people in nation-building under the vision of Viksit Bharat. He stressed that the development of the country is closely connected to the development of Arunachal Pradesh and said the state government would continue supporting opportunities in education, sports, skill development, entrepreneurship and leadership. He also encouraged young people to explore careers in the Armed Forces and other national services.

The Chief Minister highlighted initiatives designed to help more Arunachali students pursue military careers, including the Chief Minister’s Frontier Sainik School Scholarship Scheme. Under the scheme, financial assistance will be provided to students from Arunachal Pradesh studying at eight notified Sainik Schools and the Rashtriya Indian Military College in Dehradun.

Khandu also announced that an Indian Army-led mentorship programme for Arunachal students would begin soon. The officer-level coaching and mentorship initiative will provide guidance to students aspiring to join Sainik and Military Schools and eventually become officers in the Armed Forces. He further urged parents, educational institutions and society to encourage more young people to join the NCC and benefit from its training, discipline and leadership values.
