The proposed Parliament march by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on July 20 has run into uncertainty, with Delhi Police sources stating that the organisation has not yet sought official permission for the demonstration. Police officials indicated that approval for the march is unlikely because it coincides with the beginning of the Monsoon Session of Parliament, when security arrangements in the national capital are typically intensified.
The CJP has been protesting at Jantar Mantar since June 6, demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over allegations related to the NEET paper leak case. Climate activist and innovator Sonam Wangchuk joined the protest on June 28 and began an indefinite hunger strike, drawing significant public attention. The demonstration continued for nearly three weeks before Wangchuk was shifted to a hospital on Saturday after his health condition deteriorated.
According to Delhi Police officials, Wangchuk was moved to the hospital following directions from the Delhi High Court and medical advice from doctors. Police personnel arrived at the protest site on Saturday morning and shifted him amid slogans and opposition from CJP activists and other people gathered there. The High Court had earlier directed authorities to conduct regular health assessments of Wangchuk, stating that the life of every citizen is important and necessary medical steps should be taken.

Following Wangchuk's removal from the protest site, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke accused Delhi Police of using force and forcibly taking away the activist. Dipke alleged that he was prevented from reaching Jantar Mantar and claimed that police personnel assaulted and dragged him during the incident. Delhi Police has maintained that the action was taken in compliance with court directions and medical recommendations.
Dipke said the protest would continue despite Wangchuk's hospitalisation and announced that he had started a hunger strike in support of the demands. He also reiterated that the planned Parliament march on July 20 would go ahead, while alleging that some legislators and parliamentarians were stopped from entering the protest area. The claims made by protest organisers have not been independently verified.
The CJP has appealed to political parties and supporters to participate in the upcoming demonstration, which is focused on demands related to examination reforms and accountability over the NEET paper leak issue. Meanwhile, authorities are expected to closely monitor the situation around Parliament during the Monsoon Session, with security considerations likely to influence decisions regarding public demonstrations in the area.
