On the occasion of International Women's Day on Sunday, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai released the 25th installment of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, transferring financial assistance directly to the bank accounts of more than 69 lakh (6.9 million) beneficiary women. The release was conducted at the Mahatari Vandan Sammelan-2026 in Jagdalpur with a single digital click, highlighting the state government’s commitment to women’s empowerment.
The scheme provides married women with monthly support of ₹1,000, totaling ₹12,000 annually, aimed at strengthening financial independence and enabling them to meet household expenses. This installment continues the government’s efforts to promote women’s economic empowerment through timely and transparent benefit delivery.
Earlier in February, Chief Minister Sai had released the 24th installment amounting to ₹6,41,34,00,000. With Sunday’s transfer, the total disbursed under the scheme has reached ₹1,62,37,33,00,000, underscoring the state’s consistent focus on welfare programs for women.

The event in Jagdalpur, a key location in the Bastar region, drew enthusiastic participation, reflecting the scheme’s extensive reach, including remote and tribal areas. Beneficiaries reported using the funds for household needs, children’s education, healthcare, and small entrepreneurial ventures, contributing to family well-being and enhancing women’s decision-making roles.
Officials emphasized that the program benefits nearly 70 lakh women statewide, with direct bank transfers ensuring accountability and eliminating intermediaries. The Chief Minister highlighted that initiatives like the Mahtari Vandan Yojana are central to the state government’s inclusive development agenda, prioritizing women’s welfare as a foundation for societal progress.
Sunday’s transfer, coinciding with International Women’s Day, reinforced the message of equality, justice, and empowerment for women across Chhattisgarh, signaling the state’s continued dedication to supporting women’s financial and social independence.
