Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has expressed confidence that the TDP-led alliance would perform better than its 2024 election result if the Assembly polls were held today. Addressing party leaders, he said the coalition government must continue its work and strengthen public confidence while effectively responding to criticism and what he described as misinformation from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).

Speaking at the TDP Leadership Conclave at the party’s central office near Mangalagiri, Mr. Naidu said public representatives should remain at the forefront of addressing people’s problems. He stressed that earning the trust of voters would be essential for the alliance to achieve its political objectives, particularly as preparations intensify for the upcoming local body elections.

The Chief Minister also urged TDP leaders and grassroots workers to maintain cordial relations with alliance partners, including the Jana Sena Party and the BJP. He said unity within the coalition would be important for strengthening the alliance at the grassroots level and improving its electoral prospects. Naidu also indicated that party members who meet public expectations and perform effectively would receive due recognition.

Mr. Naidu accused the YSRCP of running what he described as a false campaign against the government and called on party workers to counter such claims with concrete evidence. He specifically referred to statements concerning the Veligonda and Polavaram irrigation projects, urging leaders to use social media to present facts and challenge what they consider misleading claims.

The Chief Minister said the government's performance and its ability to respond to public concerns would play a central role in maintaining the alliance's political support. He asked public representatives to focus on solving problems faced by people rather than limiting their engagement to political activities. According to him, consistent work at the local level would help strengthen the coalition's position ahead of the local body elections.

Naidu's remarks come as the TDP-led coalition seeks to consolidate its position in Andhra Pradesh and maintain coordination among its constituent parties. With local elections approaching, the leadership has placed emphasis on grassroots mobilisation, public outreach and coordinated political messaging. The Chief Minister's assessment that the alliance could improve on its 2024 performance reflects his confidence in the government's current standing, while the coming electoral contests will provide a test of that support.
