In a powerful story of determination and resilience, Manvendra Singh, a 24-year-old student from Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, has secured All India Rank 112 in the UPSC Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2025. A graduate of IIT Patna, Manvendra achieved this feat in his very first attempt, earning a place in the prestigious Indian Engineering Services despite living with cerebral palsy.
Diagnosed with cerebral palsy at just six months old, Manvendra faced lifelong challenges related to movement, muscle control, and posture. Daily tasks required extra effort, but strong family support played a crucial role in shaping his journey. His mother, Renu Singh, a school principal, trained him to use his left hand after stiffness affected his right side, helping him gain independence step by step.
Academically, Manvendra has consistently excelled. He secured top 10 ranks in both Class 10 and Class 12 examinations and cleared the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) in his first attempt with an impressive rank of 63. This achievement earned him admission to IIT Patna, where he pursued a BTech in Electronics and Electrical Engineering.
