The Central Board of Secondary Education has issued an official clarification after several students and parents raised concerns over blurry scanned copies of Class 12 answer sheets made available through the board’s photocopy access process. The board assured students that no one would be unfairly affected during the evaluation or review process and urged them not to panic over technical issues reported on the portal.
The controversy emerged after multiple students claimed that the scanned copies they received under the CBSE Class 12 Answer Sheet Photocopy 2026 process contained blurred pages, incomplete answers, or missing responses. Some users also reported delays in payment confirmation and difficulties accessing the online portal due to heavy traffic following the declaration of board examination results. The complaints quickly gained attention on social media, prompting demands for clarification from students and parents.
In its public notice, CBSE stated that more than 98.6 lakh answer sheets were evaluated this year through the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system. As part of the board’s transparency measures, students were allowed to obtain scanned copies of their evaluated answer books before applying for verification of marks or re-evaluation. CBSE acknowledged that exceptionally high portal traffic had caused temporary technical glitches, leading to issues such as blurry scans and delayed uploads in some cases.

The board emphasized that all genuine concerns related to evaluation or unclear answer sheets would be addressed fairly under the prescribed review mechanism. CBSE further stated that students facing problems with scanned copies could seek clarification or apply for re-evaluation as per official guidelines. The assurance comes amid growing pressure on educational boards to ensure transparency and accuracy in digital evaluation systems, especially as more examination processes move online.
