A horrific double murder unfolded in Barolav village, Mokhampura area of Jaipur's Dudu tehsil, when Soni (30), a widow, and her boyfriend Kailash Gurjar (25) were allegedly doused with petrol and set on fire by her relatives on November 28 around 2 a.m. The couple, meeting secretly on a farm scaffold, suffered 90% and 70% burns respectively. Villagers rescued them after hearing screams, rushing them first to Bichoon CHC before airlifting to SMS Hospital's ICU burn ward in Jaipur.
Soni's uncle-in-law Birdi Chand (57) and brother-in-law Ganesh Gurjar (41) confronted the pair, tied them, poured petrol, and ignited it in a fit of rage over their relationship, police said. Soni, widowed six years ago with a 10-year-old son (child-married) and 7-year-old daughter, had gone to meet married Kailash despite family opposition. Her dying statement confirmed the accused followed and attacked them.
Kailash died late Monday night, followed by Soni around 3 a.m. Wednesday, upgrading the initial attempted murder FIR to murder under IPC sections. Mokhampura SHO Suresh Kumar Gurjar noted swift arrests within 12 hours by Dudu ASP Shivlal Bairwa and DSP Deepak Khandelwal teams. Victim's kin demand more arrests, alleging additional involvement.

Family feud traces to last year's love marriage between Soni's brother-in-law's son and Kailash's niece, souring ties completely. Both families from same village harbored bitterness, with Soni's in-laws monitoring her movements suspecting the affair. Police investigation continues, probing full conspiracy.
Villagers protested Tuesday by blocking Mokhampura-Bichoon road post-Kailash's death, demanding justice. Authorities negotiated, promising thorough action and further detentions. The case highlights honor killing dangers in rural Rajasthan amid social tensions.
