A menacing email claiming bombs would detonate at the Rajasthan Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) and Jaipur International Airport within hours triggered massive search operations on Saturday. The threat, sent to the airport’s official email, prompted swift action from security agencies.
Police, anti-bomb squads, fire brigades, and civil defense teams descended on both locations. “Additional personnel were deployed to secure the state secretariat,” a senior police officer said. At the CMO, a government holiday meant only a skeleton staff was present, all of whom were promptly evacuated. Bomb detection teams conducted meticulous room-to-room searches at the CMO while simultaneous operations swept the airport. No suspicious items were found.
The searches, lasting over an hour, caused heightened alert across Jaipur. Authorities are now working to trace the email’s origin to identify the sender. The incident underscores the growing challenge of hoax threats disrupting public safety, with officials remaining vigilant to ensure no risks are overlooked.
