A delivery executive working with quick-commerce platform Blinkit has been accused of assaulting a customer following a dispute over a delivery address in Bengaluru. The alleged incident occurred during a late-night order and resulted in the customer sustaining a fractured nose. Police have since registered a case and begun an investigation into the matter.
According to a complaint filed by Paul J. Vithayathil, the incident took place around 2:00 a.m. on March 7 after he placed an order through the Blinkit application. The delivery executive reportedly reached the wrong location while attempting to deliver the order. When Vithayathil asked the agent to come to the correct address to complete the delivery, a verbal argument reportedly broke out between the two.
The complaint alleges that the delivery executive later walked to the customer’s residence and confronted him directly. During the confrontation, the delivery agent allegedly punched Vithayathil on the nose, threw the ordered items on the ground, and fled from the scene immediately after the assault. The incident reportedly occurred outside the customer’s residence, leaving the victim injured and requiring medical attention.

Following the attack, Vithayathil underwent a medical examination. Doctors conducted several scans, including an X-ray of the bilateral nasal bones, which confirmed the presence of a nasal bone fracture. The injuries led authorities to treat the matter as a medico-legal case, documenting the medical findings as part of the investigation.
Initially, local police registered a Non-Cognizable Report (NCR) based on the complaint. However, after reviewing the allegations and medical evidence, the case was subsequently converted into a First Information Report (FIR), allowing the police to pursue a full criminal investigation into the alleged assault.
Authorities have contacted Blinkit to obtain details about the delivery executive involved in the incident, including identity and employment information. Police officials said the investigation is ongoing, and further action will be taken once the individual responsible is identified and questioned.
