The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will organise a nationwide service campaign, ‘Seva Pakhwada’, from September 17 to October 2 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in constitutional public office. The decision was taken during the first meeting of the BJP’s newly appointed national team, chaired by party president Nitin Nabin on Saturday. The campaign will focus on public service initiatives, welfare activities and programmes highlighting various schemes and measures introduced during Modi’s tenure.
The fortnight-long campaign is expected to include sanitation drives, blood donation camps and health camps across the country. BJP leaders and workers will also organise activities aimed at connecting with communities and highlighting government welfare programmes. The party plans to use the campaign to showcase initiatives associated with Modi’s tenure while encouraging its organisational network to participate in service-oriented activities during the period.
Prime Minister Modi became the chief minister of Gujarat in 2001 and has served as the prime minister of India since 2014. September 17, Modi’s birthday, will mark the beginning of the campaign, which will continue until October 2. The BJP has traditionally organised service and welfare activities around the prime minister’s birthday, with party workers participating in programmes focused on public outreach and social initiatives.

BJP national general secretary Vinod Tawde has been appointed convener of a seven-member team tasked with preparing the detailed plan for the campaign. According to party sources, similar teams will be constituted in every state to coordinate the programmes. Each state-level team is expected to include a minister, an organisational general secretary and five senior party leaders, who will oversee the implementation of the activities and coordinate with local party units.
Alongside welfare initiatives, the BJP will organise intellectual conferences and seminars focusing on themes such as good governance, development and ‘Antyodaya’, which refers to the uplift of marginalised sections. Interactive programmes with young people will also form part of the campaign. The party is expected to use these events to discuss development initiatives and engage with youth on issues related to governance and public policy.
The BJP is also planning a stronger outreach to Gen Z as part of the broader campaign. A group including Nitin Nabin, Vinod Tawde, former Union minister Smriti Irani, Gujarat minister Harsh Sanghavi and Chhattisgarh minister OP Choudhary, among others, will support efforts aimed at connecting with younger audiences. Through ‘Seva Pakhwada’, the party plans to combine service activities, public engagement and discussions on governance while marking Modi’s 25 years in constitutional public office.
