Violent clashes broke out between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress workers in Patna during a protest related to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, with police resorting to a lathi-charge to control the situation. The confrontation saw workers from both sides engaging in physical attacks, with visuals showing the use of sticks and stone-pelting during the incident.

According to reports, several workers from both groups sustained injuries during the clash. The situation escalated as supporters from the BJP and Congress confronted each other on the streets, leading to chaos in the protest area. Police personnel intervened and used force to disperse the crowd and restore order.

The clash came a day after Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders held a demonstration outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence at Lok Kalyan Marg in New Delhi. The protest was part of the Congress party’s nationwide campaign over allegations linked to the NEET paper leak and its demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

During the Delhi protest, Gandhi, his sister and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, along with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, were among the leaders briefly detained by police. They were later removed from the protest site as authorities moved to manage the gathering.

The NEET-related protests have spread across several parts of the country, with opposition parties raising concerns over examination irregularities and demanding accountability from the government. A separate demonstration at Jantar Mantar in Delhi has also drawn attention, with activist Sonam Wangchuk continuing a hunger strike while receiving medical care at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram.

Authorities in Patna are monitoring the situation following the clash, while political parties continue their protests over the NEET issue. Police officials have urged demonstrators to maintain peace and avoid confrontations as political activities continue across the country.
