Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh arrived at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters in the capital, joining National President JP Nadda and other Senior Leaders amid euphoric celebrations over the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) sweeping victory in the Bihar Assembly elections. As counting progressed, the NDA surged to leads in over 200 of the 243 seats, surpassing its 2010 record and ensuring Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's return for a record fifth term, with the BJP emerging as the single-largest party at around 91 seats.
Shah, greeted by chanting workers waving lotus flags, hailed the mandate as a "victory of every Bihari who believes in 'Developed Bihar'" and a rejection of "jungle raj and appeasement politics," crediting the "politics of performance" for the triumph. Rajnath Singh echoed the sentiment, congratulating Bihar's voters and BJP workers for the "grand and unprecedented" win.
Nadda felicitated Prime Minister Narendra Modi onstage amid "Modi, Modi" chants and gamcha-waving supporters. The jubilations, broadcast live across channels like India Today and Times Now, underscored the NDA's consolidation, propelled by a historic 67.13% turnout with women at 71.78% participation.
The NDA's dominance was evident from early trends, crossing the 122-seat majority within hours of counting starting at 8 a.m., with JD(U) leading in 77-81 seats, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) in 21-22, and allies like Hindustani Awam Morcha adding four. Key wins included BJP's Rana Randhir in Madhuban, Samrat Choudhary in Tarapur by 45,843 votes, and folk singer Maithili Thakur in Alinagar by over 12,000; JD(U)'s Anant Singh triumphed in Mokama from jail by 28,206 votes, while Chirag Paswan's party bolstered the coalition's backward caste outreach.
Shah emphasized the pre-poll Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists as a national mood for "purification," defending it against opposition allegations of manipulation. Celebrations spilled over from Patna's NDA offices to Delhi, with Modi waving to crowds and addressing workers on the alliance's development agenda.

As the NDA eyes oath-taking by November 20, the verdict reinforces Bihar's pivot to performance governance, with Shah assuring women and mothers of fulfilled promises under Modi's leadership. This landslide, akin to Maharashtra 2024's Mahayuti sweep, fortifies the BJP's eastern bastion ahead of 2026 polls in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, signaling sustained "double-engine" momentum for infrastructure, welfare, and social justice initiatives.
