Newly elected Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital on Tuesday, marking an important interaction shortly after taking charge of the state government. The meeting in New Delhi is being viewed as significant in setting the tone for coordination between the Centre and the new Bihar administration.
After the meeting, Choudhary shared a message on his official X account, describing it as a courtesy call and expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister. He said he received guidance on the broader vision of a “Developed India” and a “Prosperous Bihar,” adding that the Prime Minister’s support and cooperation would help accelerate the state’s progress. Photographs released by the Prime Minister’s Office and the Chief Minister’s office showed the two leaders greeting each other warmly.
According to sources, the discussions focused on Bihar’s current development priorities, governance challenges, and strategies to fast-track ongoing and upcoming welfare and infrastructure initiatives. Strengthening Centre-state coordination and effective implementation of key development schemes were also key points of discussion during the meeting.

Choudhary was sworn in as Bihar Chief Minister on April 15 at the Bihar Lok Bhavan. His appointment is being noted in political circles as a significant development, as it marks the first time a leader from the Bharatiya Janata Party’s quota has assumed the top post in the state. Prime Minister Modi had earlier congratulated him and expressed confidence in his leadership soon after the swearing-in ceremony.
Since taking office, the Chief Minister has moved quickly into administrative work, holding a series of review meetings with officials. He also visited Takht Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib shortly after his oath-taking, where he prayed for peace, harmony, and prosperity in Bihar and was honoured by the Gurudwara Management Committee.
In another recent engagement, Choudhary participated in the Bharatiya Janata Party Mahila Morcha’s ‘Jan Akrosh Mahila Sammelan’ in Patna on Monday, which was held in support of the Women’s Reservation Amendment Bill. The event reflected the new government’s early political and developmental outreach efforts across the state.
