Three members of a family were allegedly murdered inside their apartment in Bengaluru's Seegehalli area on Monday, with police suspecting the involvement of the family's elder daughter and her live-in partner. The victims have been identified as Somasundar (55), his wife Muthulakshmi (48), and their younger daughter Supriya (20). Investigators believe the killings occurred inside the family's residence at Sai Green Apartment under the jurisdiction of the KR Puram police station.
According to preliminary findings, police suspect that the accused, identified as Shwetha and her boyfriend Kenneth, carried out the attack before fleeing the scene. Authorities are examining whether the crime was planned in advance and whether both suspects played active roles in the murders. A manhunt has been launched to trace the pair, who remain absconding.
Investigators believe tensions had existed within the family over Shwetha's relationship with Kenneth. Police sources indicate that her parents strongly opposed the relationship, which may have contributed to ongoing disputes. Officers are examining whether this conflict was a key factor behind the alleged murders, though they have not yet reached a final conclusion regarding the motive.

A financial angle has also emerged during the investigation. According to police sources, Shwetha had allegedly accumulated debts of nearly Rs 30 lakh, leading to frequent disagreements with her parents. Investigators are exploring whether financial pressures, family disputes and relationship issues collectively contributed to the events that unfolded at the apartment.
Police suspect that Shwetha and Kenneth visited the residence when Muthulakshmi was alone at home. During an alleged altercation, she was attacked with a sharp weapon and killed. Investigators believe the accused remained at the house afterward. When Supriya later returned home, she was allegedly restrained and attacked. Somasundar, who also returned to the residence, was reportedly assaulted with the same weapon. Despite sustaining severe injuries, he is believed to have managed to leave the apartment and seek assistance before succumbing to his injuries.
The bodies have been sent to a nearby hospital for post-mortem examination as investigators continue gathering evidence. Police are reviewing the sequence of events, collecting forensic material and questioning individuals connected to the family. Authorities have stated that one person has been arrested in connection with the case, although further details regarding that arrest have not yet been disclosed. The investigation remains ongoing as police work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the triple homicide.
