Union Home Minister Amit Shah will virtually launch the Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP) at five additional international airports—Lucknow, Thiruvananthapuram, Trichy, Kozhikode, and Amritsar—on September 11, 2025, enhancing the immigration clearance process for pre-verified Indian nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders.
Initially introduced at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport in July 2024 and extended to seven other airports in September 2024, the programme now covers 13 major airports, with plans to expand to 21.
The FTI-TTP, managed by the Bureau of Immigration, offers faster, smoother, and secure immigration clearance through e-Gates, minimizing human intervention. Eligible travelers apply online at www.ftittp.mha.gov.in, submitting biometrics (fingerprint and facial image) at designated airports or Foreigners Regional Registration Offices (FRROs).
Registration, valid for up to five years or until passport expiry, is currently free for Indian citizens and OCI cardholders. The programme mirrors the U.S. Global Entry Program, ensuring expedited clearance for low-risk travelers.
At e-Gates, passengers scan their boarding pass and passport, with biometric authentication enabling automatic clearance. A “White List” of trusted travelers ensures seamless processing. The initiative, set to include foreign travelers in its second phase, aims to establish world-class immigration facilities.
For support, the Union Home Ministry has provided a helpdesk email: india.ftittp-boi@mha.gov.in. The expansion reflects India’s commitment to modernizing international travel, with thousands already benefiting from faster clearances.
