Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a blistering attack on the Congress-RJD-Left INDIA bloc, alleging that their opposition to the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Bihar’s voter list is a bid to protect "infiltrators from Bangladesh" who form their vote bank. Addressing BJP workers’ conclaves in Dehri-on-Sone and Begusarai, attended by activists from 20 of Bihar’s 38 districts, Shah urged party cadres to warn every household of the risks of rampant infiltration should the opposition gain power, even "by fluke."
Shah defended the SIR as a necessary purge of "impurities" from the voter list, questioning why Rahul Gandhi’s Voter Adhikar Yatra and RJD leader Lalu Prasad’s objections signal alarm. “Why should it make the stomachs of Rahul baba and Lalu ji churn? They’re worried their Bangladeshi infiltrator vote banks will be flushed out,” he claimed, rhetorically asking if such infiltrators should access citizen benefits like free ration, Rs 5 lakh medical insurance, housing, or jobs, to which the crowd roared "no."
Dismissing Gandhi’s "vote theft" allegations as a "false narrative," Shah likened them to past opposition claims about scrapping SC, ST, and OBC reservations, vowing that quotas would remain intact under BJP’s watch. He emphasized outreach to deprived castes, countering the party’s upper-caste image, and set a goal of a two-thirds majority in the upcoming 243-seat Bihar assembly elections. Shah stressed coordination with NDA allies JD(U) and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), noting that votes for their symbols—arrow and hut—ultimately bolster Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision.

Highlighting his roots as a Gujarat booth worker, Shah underscored the BJP’s worker-driven ethos, contrasting Modi’s tireless work ethic with Gandhi’s alleged penchant for frequent foreign vacations. Expressing concern over the NDA’s lackluster 2020 performance in the Magadh-Shahabad region, he demanded an 80% strike rate for the alliance. Shah also lauded Bihar’s gains from Modi’s schemes like Ayushman Bharat and Jan Dhan, complemented by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s recent 125-unit free electricity initiative, as the BJP ramps up for a high-stakes electoral battle.
