At least 10 private schools in Ahmedabad were thrown into a state of alert on Wednesday after receiving emails threatening bomb blasts on their premises. The threatening messages, which carried identical text, warned of explosions scheduled for the afternoon hours, prompting immediate action from school authorities and law enforcement agencies.
As a precautionary measure, the affected schools declared a holiday for the afternoon shift, as the morning sessions had already concluded by the time the emails were received. Parents and staff were promptly informed to avoid panic, while students were kept away from school premises until safety was ensured.
Following the alerts, police teams, along with bomb detection and disposal squads, dog squads, and anti-sabotage units, rushed to the schools. A comprehensive search operation was carried out at each location to rule out any potential threat or suspicious object.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1), Harshad Patel, confirmed that no explosives or suspicious materials were found during the searches. He stated that while the threat was ultimately determined to be a hoax, authorities followed full safety protocols to ensure there was no risk to students or staff.
Cybercrime teams have now launched an investigation to trace the origin of the emails and identify those responsible for creating the panic. Officials have refrained from disclosing the exact contents of the messages, citing the ongoing investigation, and assured the public that strict action will be taken against the perpetrators.
