A six-year-old girl was rescued alive from beneath thick mud and debris in Timure village of Nepal's Rasuwa district on Friday evening, three days after a devastating flood swept through the area. The rescue offered a rare moment of hope amid ongoing search operations following the flooding caused by the overflowing Bhote Koshi River. Rescue teams have continued working through difficult conditions to locate people who may still be trapped beneath the debris. The girl was found during a search operation by personnel from Nepal's Armed Police Force (APF). While looking for survivors in the flood-hit area, the rescuers heard faint cries coming from beneath the soil and debris.

They immediately began digging at the location, eventually reaching the child and pulling her out alive. The discovery came after three days under the debris, making the rescue particularly significant for teams involved in the continuing disaster response. Timure village was among the areas affected after the Bhote Koshi River overflowed and sent floodwaters through the region. The flooding left behind large quantities of mud and debris, making search operations difficult for emergency teams. Rescuers have had to work through challenging terrain while attempting to locate survivors and recover those who may have been trapped when the flooding struck.

After being pulled from the debris, the six-year-old was initially taken to the APF Border Outpost in Timure, where she received medical attention. However, her condition later deteriorated, prompting authorities to arrange urgent transportation to a medical facility capable of providing specialist treatment. Given the remoteness and difficult conditions in the affected area, moving the child to a larger hospital became an immediate priority. Authorities arranged for the girl to be airlifted to Kathmandu on Friday evening for further treatment.

The girl is now receiving specialist treatment at a hospital in Kathmandu and remains under close medical supervision. Her rescue has provided a rare positive development after the devastating floods in Rasuwa, where rescue personnel are continuing efforts to locate other survivors.
