A British couple who spent a decade living in London has shared how repeated visits to India inspired them to leave their careers behind and begin a new life in the country. The couple, Adam and Jenny, recently posted about their journey on Instagram, describing how travelling across India in a tuk-tuk changed their perspective on life and ultimately led them to relocate permanently.
In a viral video titled “They don’t know it yet, but this trip to India will change their lives forever,” the couple reflected on how their outlook evolved during their travels. Adam explained that although they had built successful careers in London, something always felt different after each visit to India. While Adam worked in construction and Jenny ran a medical device consultancy, they said their experiences travelling through India gradually made them question their routine lifestyle.
According to the couple, each trip to India left them feeling increasingly disconnected from their life in London. Adam wrote in the caption of their post that from the outside their life appeared stable and successful, with good salaries and established careers. However, he said the repeated exposure to India’s landscapes, culture, and people made them feel as though they were following a life path that did not truly belong to them.

Eventually, the pair decided to take a sabbatical and embark on an unconventional adventure across the country. Travelling in a tuk-tuk, the couple crossed 17 Indian states and covered thousands of kilometres, moving through mountains, deserts, coastal regions, and bustling cities. What began as an adventurous journey outside their comfort zone soon became a transformative experience that reshaped their priorities and lifestyle.
Adam said the journey helped them grow in ways they had never expected, allowing them to discover new perspectives about themselves and the world around them. The experience convinced them not to return to their old life in London. Instead, they chose to close that chapter entirely and settle in India, where they now live in the capital city of New Delhi.
The couple’s story has gained attention on social media, where many users praised their willingness to embrace a different lifestyle and explore the country deeply. Several commenters described their journey as inspiring and highlighted the unique cultural experiences India offers travellers, noting that while no country is perfect, India’s diversity, hospitality, and vibrant traditions often leave a lasting impression on visitors.
