Green tea is often considered a popular choice among people trying to lose weight and reduce belly fat, but nutritionist Lovneet Batra has said that relying on a single beverage is not enough to achieve significant results. She explained that healthy weight loss requires a combination of a balanced diet, regular physical activity, and consistent lifestyle changes. Batra said that no single food or drink can directly eliminate stubborn belly fat. While green tea may have certain health benefits, including providing antioxidants and supporting overall wellness, it cannot replace the need for proper nutrition and exercise.

One of the foods recommended by Batra is cumin, commonly known as jeera. According to the nutritionist, cumin may help support digestion and improve metabolism.
She suggested soaking one teaspoon of cumin seeds overnight and drinking the infused water on an empty stomach, or boiling the seeds for a few minutes and consuming the warm drink. Other traditional Indian foods that can be part of a healthy weight-loss plan include protein-rich options such as pulses, lentils, and sprouts. These foods help increase satiety, keeping people fuller for longer and reducing unnecessary snacking. Adequate protein intake is also important for maintaining muscle mass during weight loss.
