Actor Siddharth has received what he considers his most meaningful feedback for portraying Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja in Netflix’s Operation Safed Sagar. The actor revealed that Ajay’s wife, Alka Ahuja, contacted him after watching the series and has continued to share her thoughts about his performance. Siddharth said her response has been especially important because of the responsibility involved in portraying a real-life Air Force officer.

Alka had initially chosen not to comment on Siddharth’s portrayal when the series was being promoted, saying she wanted to watch the complete story first. After viewing the series, she reached out to the actor, and the two have remained in regular contact. Siddharth said Alka frequently points out different details in his performance and also shares reactions from Ajay’s family. According to the actor, the family feels he succeeded in giving the Kargil hero a fitting tribute.

One of Alka’s most personal observations was that Siddharth reminded her of Ajay. She reportedly told the actor that her husband had a similar personality, describing him as jovial, fun-loving and mischievous while also being highly focused whenever he was at work. Siddharth said hearing that comparison was particularly touching because it suggested that his portrayal had captured aspects of Ajay’s character beyond his professional life.

Alka also noticed similarities between Ajay’s relationships with fellow officers and the friendships portrayed in the series. Siddharth’s camaraderie with his co-stars Mihir Ahuja, Abhay Verma, Taaruk Raina and Arnav Bhasin reportedly reminded her of the close bonds Ajay shared with other members of the Indian Air Force. These personal connections helped the actor understand the human side of the officer and the relationships surrounding him during the Kargil conflict.

Operation Safed Sagar, directed by Oni Sen and created by Kushal Srivastava and Abhijeet Singh Parmar, features Siddharth alongside Jimmy Sheirgill, Abhay Verma, Dia Mirza, Prajakta Koli, Mihir Ahuja, Taaruk Raina, Arnav Bhasin and Amrita Bagchi. The series focuses on the Indian Air Force’s role during the Kargil War and features aerial sequences involving the MiG-21, an aircraft closely associated with the Golden Arrows squadron and the conflict.

The series also highlights the legacy of the MiG-21, which served the Indian Air Force for decades before its retirement. Netflix later continued the aircraft’s story through The Last Salute, a documentary directed by Kushal Srivastava that examines the fighter jet’s long service history. For Siddharth, however, the strongest validation for Operation Safed Sagar has come from Ajay Ahuja’s family, particularly Alka’s belief that his portrayal reflected the personality and spirit of the officer he played.
