Actor Rubina Dilaik has criticised Asim Riaz over what she described as his behaviour behind the scenes on Battleground Season 1. Speaking about publicity and controversies surrounding reality television, Rubina alleged that Riaz was rude to members of the show's crew and creative team. Her comments have brought renewed attention to the conduct of participants on reality-show sets.

Rubina reportedly discussed the issue on the channel The4POV while recalling her experience on Battleground. She alleged that Riaz spoke to members of the creative team disrespectfully and repeatedly used abusive language. According to her account, his conduct was upsetting to people working behind the scenes and went beyond the usual disagreements associated with reality television.

She also described Riaz as having "nuisance value" and referred to his perceived role in generating publicity for reality shows. Rubina said he had claimed that he was responsible for the popularity or heightened attention surrounding shows such as Bigg Boss, Khatron Ke Khiladi and Battleground. She questioned the attitude of a participant who, in her view, disrespected the same shows and teams that contributed to his visibility.

Rubina further said she believes contestants should respect the teams working behind a show.
