Rohit Shetty has addressed concerns surrounding the safety of stunts on Khatron Ke Khiladi 15, saying that safety remains the show's top priority. The comments came after contestants Gaurav Khanna and Karan Wahi discussed a painful rubber bullet task that reportedly left them with intense bruising on their backs. The stunt-based reality show has faced questions about the physical demands of its tasks.

In an interview with Variety India, Rohit said the stunts on Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 are designed to challenge contestants and test their limits. He maintained that every task is planned and executed under the supervision of experienced professionals and with extensive safety measures in place. Rohit also said he contributes his own inputs to the design of the stunts, drawing on his experience in action filmmaking.

The filmmaker and host also explained the difference between performing action sequences in films and taking part in Khatron Ke Khiladi. According to Rohit, film actors work with rehearsals, choreography, technology and a large production team, while also performing within a fictional character. On the reality show, contestants face the stunt as themselves, which makes the fear and pressure more direct.

Rohit said the current season was designed to take the show's central theme of fear to another level, both physically and mentally. Khatron Ke Khiladi 15 has returned after a break, and he said the team wanted its comeback to feel bigger, fresher and worth the wait. The season carries the theme Darr Ka Naya Daur and has focused on tougher stunts, a larger scale and more psychological challenges.

The host also spoke about the show's continuing popularity and its connection with viewers. He said the format has retained elements that audiences have traditionally enjoyed while introducing greater unpredictability through the contestants and the challenges. The current season has combined physically demanding tasks with situations intended to test contestants' ability to deal with fear and pressure.
