Actor Preity Zinta has spoken out strongly against intrusive paparazzi behaviour, saying that the constant pursuit of photographs—especially involving her children—feels “scary” and crosses clear personal boundaries. The actor addressed the issue during a recent online “Ask Me Anything” session on X, where she discussed fame, privacy, and how she manages public attention while protecting her family life.
Responding to a question about whether she would choose fame, privacy, or peace of mind, Preity said she does not view her choices as sacrifices but as a balancing act. She explained that she has learned to manage expectations over time while continuing to appreciate her connection with fans. According to her, interacting with admirers remains important, but it must be done within respectful limits that do not intrude on personal space.
Preity made it clear that photographs of her children are “non-negotiable,” stressing that she does not accept any attempt by photographers or media to capture their images. She added that while she is generally open to taking pictures with fans when approached respectfully, she draws a firm line when it comes to her family. She also said she avoids situations where she is rushed or unable to engage, such as during travel or at places of worship.

The actor further said she feels uncomfortable when paparazzi follow her into private spaces or unexpectedly approach her outside her residence or gym. She described such situations as “unnerving” and said it becomes overwhelming when cameras appear without warning. While acknowledging that many celebrities actively engage with paparazzi as part of maintaining public visibility, she clarified that her approach is more private and controlled.
Preity also differentiated between professional media presence at events and invasive following in personal spaces. She said she has no issue with photographers at organised public functions but believes crossing into private zones goes too far. Emphasising her need for personal downtime, she said she is also human and requires space to stay grounded, even while being grateful for public love and career opportunities. On the professional front, Preity is currently preparing for the film Lahore 1947, co-starring Sunny Deol. The film is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced under Aamir Khan Productions.
