The Shahid Kapoor–Tripti Dimri starrer O’Romeo saw a notable slowdown on its fourth day, adding ₹1.66 crore to its domestic total on Monday. Despite the decline, the romantic revenge drama has crossed the ₹30 crore mark in its extended opening weekend, with a worldwide gross currently standing at ₹40.6 crore.
The film opened strongly on Friday with ₹8.5 crore and surged to ₹12.65 crore on Saturday, reflecting a 48.82 percent growth. Sunday collections dipped slightly to ₹9 crore, showing the expected drop before weekday footfalls typically decline across most markets. Analysts note that Day 4’s slowdown aligns with usual weekday trends for new releases.
Occupancy figures across major cities mirrored this dip. Mumbai recorded 12 percent occupancy, with morning and afternoon shows at 9 percent and 15 percent respectively. The National Capital Region posted 9.5 percent occupancy, while Pune and Bengaluru saw 11 percent and 10 percent, respectively, showing a consistent but reduced audience presence.

Regional variations showed Chennai leading with 15.5 percent occupancy despite limited shows. Jaipur followed at 14 percent, Hyderabad at 9 percent, Kolkata 8 percent, and Ahmedabad 7.5 percent. Smaller markets such as Chandigarh and Bhopal logged single-digit occupancy, while Lucknow and Surat remained steady at 11 percent and 6 percent, respectively.
Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, O’Romeo is adapted from Hussain Zaidi’s Mafia Queens of Mumbai. Shahid Kapoor plays the central role of Ustara, with key performances by Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia, Disha Patani, and Farida Jalal. The film marks Bhardwaj’s return to direction after three years and his fourth collaboration with Kapoor.
Critics have praised the performances but reactions to the storyline remain mixed. Industry observers suggest that the weekday trend following the opening weekend will be crucial in determining whether O’Romeo maintains momentum at the box office or experiences further decline in its first week.
