Reality television personality Nicole Zanatta has announced the birth of her twin daughters, sharing an emotional account of the challenges her family has faced since their arrival. The former contestant from the television series The Challenge revealed that she welcomed daughters Seraphina and Madyson on May 1 and described becoming a mother as the “greatest blessing” of her life.
In a social media post accompanied by photographs of the newborns, Nicole introduced her daughters to fans and recounted the difficult weeks that followed their birth. The images showed the twins in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) as well as moments of bonding with their mother. According to Nicole, both infants were diagnosed with congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV), a condition she said she had never heard of before it became part of her family’s experience.
The 35-year-old explained that the diagnosis required extensive medical care, including NICU treatment, ongoing appointments, testing, and medication. Although the twins were recently able to return home, she noted that their medical journey is continuing. Despite the challenges, Nicole expressed gratitude and optimism, emphasizing her commitment to supporting her daughters and advocating for their health needs.

Reflecting on the experience, Nicole said she wished she had known more about congenital CMV during her pregnancy. She shared her family's story in conjunction with CMV Awareness Month, hoping to raise public understanding of a condition that often receives limited attention despite being one of the most common congenital infections affecting newborns.
In her message, Nicole encouraged expectant parents to remain attentive to prenatal care and medical results, noting that illnesses that may appear minor during pregnancy can sometimes have serious consequences for a baby. She also thanked family, friends, healthcare professionals, and supporters who offered encouragement and prayers during the difficult weeks following her daughters’ birth.
Congenital CMV is caused by cytomegalovirus, a common virus that belongs to the herpes virus family. Medical experts note that the virus can be transmitted through body fluids and often causes mild or no symptoms in healthy individuals. However, when passed from a pregnant mother to a developing baby, it can lead to health complications that may require specialized treatment and long-term monitoring. Nicole’s decision to share her experience has drawn attention to the importance of awareness, early detection, and support for families affected by the condition.
